Today is Asher's Birthday! He's 15 years old! As I drove him to school this morning, I told him again about his birth. I think I do this every birthday! I remember my Mom always telling me how she held me and so I tell Asher how I held HIM! I told Asher about how his Mom was sick with something called 'help syndrome' and was in great pain. So he came out C-Section. He reminded me how Susie told him she drove from Salt Lake to Provo 90 miles an hour! I told him Menges was there. I told him how in those days in the hospital down in Utah Valley they kept the babies about 100 yards away from the mom's, so I would wheel him in his little cart back and forth. I didn't tell him this morning, but I have told him before, but those moments when I wheeled him in that cart were very special to me. For some reason I got a very clear look into Asher's soul and KNEW he was a good soul, a good good spirit of peace and calm. Sometimes when he's upset, and freaked out, or having problems, I remember the TRUE Asher. The one I saw in that little cart. And wish HE could see himself like that. Then he wouldn't ever be worried about anything in life. He would know he was loved and made of pure goodness and divine light. I'm actually getting emotional writing this!
And here... here is a picture of Asher on the day of his birth, February 12th, 1994.
And while we are at it, why not a few more pictures of Asher as a baby? Here is a classic with him in the Dump Truck!
This is him with his Grandma, who was giving him a bath!
And here he is a little bit older, getting some sleep.
